LifeWise Air Purifiers

LifeWise Ultra Air Purifier
LifeWise air purifiers were at one time exclusively sold by Radio Shack according to reports, but it seems that they can now be purchased from other retailers as well. In fact, Radio Shack doesn’t even offer the LifeWise air purifiers on their website any longer. This is good news for the consumer because with some competition you are able to shop around for the best deal before you buy your LifeWise air purifier.
LifeWise air purifiers come in two types of models. Some are filterless units which use an IFD (Intelligent Filter Design) filter system. The IFD filter is larger than a typical air purifier filter and is made of a material that can be shaken outdoors in the breeze or vacuumed clean. There is no need to ever replace the IFD filter in your LifeWise air purifier.
The LifeWise filterless air purifiers also have ultraviolet filtration along with the IFD filter. Ultraviolet light will kill small airborne microorganisms that a filter won’t catch, giving the LifeWise air purifiers a double-duty design. These are a wonder option for someone who has allergy problems. The UV light bulbs do need regular replacement in order for the air purifier to perform at its best.
The other model of LifeWise air purifiers are HEPA filter designs. These models use True HEPA technology in order to clan the air in your home. The HEPA filters in these LifeWise models do need to be replaced regularly, but the positive side of the HEPA filter design is that they are much quieter than the IFD filter design.
LifeWise air purifiers have internal monitors and an LCD display on them that tells you when your filter needs to be cleaned and when your UV light bulb needs to be replaced. The LCD unit will also give you the option of setting a programmable timer for up to twelve hours of operation.
The LifeWise air purifiers described here are ozone air purifiers, which are designed to remove odors from the air but not germs or allergens. The filters in the units are designed to remove the germs from the air. The UV light acts as an ozone emitting device as well as for removal of microorganisms.
The Biozone air purifiers are also great air purifiers for that purpose. If you have asthma or respiratory problems it is a good idea to consult with your physician before using an ozone emitting air purifier. Ultraviolet bulbs contain a toxic vapor that may be able to leak into the air, which results in an electromagnetic field that can cause havoc on someone with respiratory problems. Most of the time a UV bulb will not leak this vapor, however, unless it has been broken.
